So I *have* been crafting lately....just making a lot of presents. Laura's dogs just got some candy corn sweaters. They were fun and quick to make.



I also worked on a nifty thing for my friend Bee's birthday and hope to have pics of it up soon. I have 2 other finished projects that are waiting to be gifted before I post pics of them too!

I voted this morning with little trouble. I now wait in nervous apprehension!

The Mystery Box

Its been a while since I have sent a care package..but I decide to send a mystery fun box to Jen in Columbia. I actually finished this a long time ago, but it sat waiting to be mailed. I had to actually construct a box for the odd size of its contents. It involved a lot of tape. A LOT. But I am happy with what I cam up with...

4 of my fav. albums. I made collages for the covers of these cds. Because I run a design business, I am always getting magazines and catalogs with crazy fonts/illustrations/images/papers. I save them for collage-making, but rarely get the chance..so whoo hoo!
I found a bird mobile design on Ye Olde DESIGN SPONGE. I have been wanting to make it for a while. What better reason than to cheer up my Jen Jen? Also I thought it would be fun to drive her cats insane. Jen has pics of it assembled and in her living room..I will post them later. Here are the peices, though.
Also included were a bag of Funyuns ( for the FUN!) and a box of Dove chocolates marketed to "improve your complexion" with vitamins and antioxidants...best damn excuse to eat chocolate ever....

Fuckign fuck!

So I wake up this morning to Cindi handing me the phone. It was a woman calling from some law office representing some bank in Maryland calling me to try to reach a settlement my $40,000 debt.

Excuse me?

She goes on with her whole...deal... and I say "What the fuck?" OOOooof course she procedes to get angry because HOW DARE I use that language. HOW DARE you call me with this bullshit? (me) HOW DARE you open an account that you had no intention of paying for.(her) I fucking didnt...(me) and then it started the whole swearing thing again. And I couldnt get a word in because the only words I could get out were some how related to fuck. I would think that she would be used to it in her line of work. So i hung up on her because there was no way I was going to stop cussing and there was no way she was going to stop screaming at me for cussing.

I sign online to check my credit report just to be sure....and of course there is no mysterious $40,000 debt hanging over my head. Just the normal school loans etc.... right where they should be...everything was the same as when i checked about a year ago. Nothing even close to $40,000 becasue that is way more money than I have ever taken out on credit in my entire life combined.

The truely creepy thing was that she was able to give me my social security number. But oh well. What a fucking bitch!

Sandbaggin'

So we went down today to get some free BAGS OF SAND in prep for the storm. I don't think it will be much of anything but our house tends to flood even with a little rain. I figured it would be worth it. Max was awesome and stayed in the PT while Cindi & I bagged. I told her she could have the sand for her sand box once it was all over. She looked at it and asked "Don't you think that is too much?"

Fahy vs. Fay

So Matt felt doomed from the start when he hard that a Tropical storm had been named Fay (pronounced the same as his last name Fahy). Sure enough we pull it up on the tubes and it is headed straight for him. I spent some time today picking up things from around the house and securing the stuff around the house next to us (our neighbor passed away earlier this year). I have plenty more to do over the next two days. I will keep you all posted on the status.

I live on the little peninsula located just north of the 2 p.m. Tuesday dot.

A flasback to Design II

I saw a pattarn for a re-usable grocery bag made from crocheted plastic bags a long time ago, and am just now getting around to doing it. I am having to cut up a TON of plastic bags. (Personal Next project of '01, anyone? anyone?)

I don't have pics of the project itself, but it is looking cool.

So we gave Max her house last night and she loved it.

So we are getting this thing wrapped up. Our goal is to have it totally finished by Thursday. We will see how that goes. But for now, some pics.

An aquarium! It has batteries and little plastic fish that swim around.

Posters for Barbie's room. Notice Teal'c from Stargate in the middle. He is Max's fav character on the show. So I took it perhaps a step to far. I photosohped a kitten into his arms, added some butterflies and of course his trademark "indeed" down the side.

Snazzy ottoman for the living room. I just finished this 10 minutes ago.

These are Barbie-sized gift bags. We are going to prop up Max's Barbies in the house during her party to look like they are having a birthday party for Barbie's little sister Kelly....who looks a lot like Maxine. Tessie is even making a cake.

These are some paper plates and party hats. Tessie even made the plates dented to look like REAL paper plates.

Tessie, the master of miniatures, also hand sewed this Barbie-sized teddy bear. Its arms and legs are adjustable. Tessie is INSANE!!!!!!

So things are starting to come together. The bathroom is near completion. I just need to finish framing the windows. We decided to buy an actual barbie bathtub because it matched our predetermined color scheme.
